Sad News about Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s 6-year-old son Miles

Following the diagnosis of their 6-year-old son Miles with type 1 diabetes, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, along with their young children, are adjusting to “a different, new world for us.”

Teigen informed her fans of her son’s condition in a Wednesday Instagram post after some of them noticed the small kid wearing a glucose monitor on the back of his arm in a shot of him holding signs during the Paris Olympics.

“Many of you noticed something unique about a photo I shared a few days ago of Luna, Miles, and me congratulating Simone (Biles) and Team USA. Miles raised his arm, and so many of you reached out to say the most lovely and fantastic words I’ve ever seen on this platform,” Teigen, 38, wrote in the post.

“You spotted his type 1 diabetes monitor and showed him so much love and encouragement in every way possible. I was and continue to be blown away by the warmth of this town.”

Her tweet sparked an outpouring of love and affection from her fans and followers, and she was moved by their responses.

“A few weeks ago, Miles was hospitalized with a severe case of shigella, an intestinal infection caused by germs in food or drink. Many of his buddies became ill as well, because they attended the same camp, and well, it happens!” Teigen wrote in her post.

Doctors then detected something peculiar about his blood readings.

“But the doctors knew something else was wrong with his blood tests.” Since then, I’ve learned that this is how so many young children are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes after being admitted to the hospital for something else. Following more testing, we discovered that he is in the ‘honeymoon stage’ of his T1 lifetime. We gave him his first insulin shot last night, and now here we go! It’s a strange, new environment for us, and we’re learning a lot on the fly.”

She closed her post by thanking everyone for their wonderful words of support.

“This post is to thank you so much for your kindness,” she had said. “It helps Miles so much to know so many other people are going through the same thing and he is not alone.”
