The rosy boa is a species of snake in the family Boidae. The rosy boa is one of only two species in the boa family native to the United States, the other being the rubber boa . The rosy boa is a small (2- to 4-foot) member of the Boidae family.
Its range extends from Sonora and Baja in Mexico, to California and Arizona in the United States, and it is primarily a nocturnal desert-dweller, preying on a variety of small mammals and sometimes birds and lizards.
